About Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a natural, complete, and deep-healing system of medicine that was developed by Samuel Hahnemann over 200 years ago.
Homeopathy is based on the principle of similars, also known as ‘Like cures like’. This refers to recognition that natural substances are capable of curing the same symptoms that they can cause. By studying the symptoms that develop when a healthy person tests or “proves” a remedy, homeopaths can determine which symptoms the remedy is capable of curing.
Once a remedy is selected, it is administered in a highly-diluted dose that triggers the body’s own healing system to alleviate or improve the condition. This is known as an “infinitesimal dose,” another key principle of homeopathy.
The World Health Organization (WHO) identifies homeopathy as the second most popular system of healthcare in the world. Homeopathy is also widely recognized for its natural and environmentally-friendly approach to health.
Homeopathy – the green medicine
An important feature about homeopathic medicine is its lack of adverse impact on the environment. In both manufacture and use, homeopathy is completely sustainable and produces no residual pollution of the air or water supply, oceans, or dump sites.
The unique manufacturing process of homeopathic remedies can produce many thousands of doses from a minimum amount of source material. It is completely sustainable and involves a minimum use of energy and no release of toxins affecting the environment.
Homeopathic remedies cost very little to make or purchase and they last for many decades.
Almost all homeopathic remedies are made from natural substances such as plants, minerals, and animal products. Most of the animal-based remedies are humanely-sourced and no animals are involved in testing the remedies, which requires only healthy humans to “prove” each remedy to determine its range of action.
Homeopathic treatment
When used correctly, homeopathy offers a completely safe, gentle, and non-addictive treatment for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. However, the fundamentals of homeopathy are so different from the conventional approach to health and medicine that many people question whether it can actually be effective. Homeopathy Awareness campaigns will address these doubts and share many documented cases that show improvement in health conditions with carefully-managed homeopathic treatment. These include long-term problems such as allergies, anxiety, arthritis, asthma, incontinence, insomnia, sciatica, shingles, and skin diseases.
Homeopathy can be especially useful in treating chronic conditions by addressing the underlying cause of the disorder. This requires in-depth constitutional treatment by a qualified homeopath.
Homeopathy is also effective in the treatment of sudden or repetitive minor injuries, such as cuts and scrapes, muscle strains, or sprains. Many people have learned to use homeopathy at home to treat these and other minor acute and emergency first aid situations.
